For All the Dreamers: A Supernatural Experience

Have you ever had a dream that felt real? I’ve had several and what I would do is take some time to write it down in my journal. It wasn’t until I read through it and realized that some things actually transpired. Dreams can provide great insight. It is also a method God uses to speak to us or to make us aware of a sinful nature we may have. Often times, we tend to cast dreams aside and pay it no attention. Would you say that purposely forgetting your dreams especially the vivid ones is doing more harm than good? Well, in the bible, God gave Joseph a dream. The dream depicted his future and when shared, his brothers grew even more jealous. His brothers were already envious because of the relationship he had with their father. When we have dreams, how do we know when it is a good time to share or if we should at all for that matter? The dream of Joseph ruling over them, fueled hate within his brothers and unknowingly their actions pushed Joseph into the destiny they feared.

Can dreams be described as having a supernatural experience? When I was ten years old my mother passed away from breast cancer. I remember kissing her goodbye as I ran out the door for school. I had never seen her alive again since that morning and it is also the same day she was admitted into the hospital. Two weeks had passed and one day my sister picked me up from school and brought me over to my cousin’s house. We went into the bedroom where she sat me on the bed. She had told me momma had died and I wouldn’t see her anymore. The rest of the day was a blur. A few days later, I had a dream about my mother. The next day, I had the same dream and again on the third day. In the dream, my mother stood on the sidewalk next to a car parked on the street. She gave me the biggest smile and waved goodbye. She got into the passenger side of the car and it drove away. It still hurt that she was gone, but to see her in my dreams somehow I knew she was alright.

How can dreams impact your life and the lives of others? and When is the right time to share? I shared my dream with my sister about our mother a few months later. She hugged me tightly and we both cried. It gave us both peace about the situation and we shared memories we had of her. When Joseph shared his dream with his brothers I’m sure he did not expect them to plot against him. His brothers sold him, and again, he was sold to someone else. Joseph had still prospered because the Lord was with him. Even though, Joseph was sent to prison later on for something he didn’t do; he was blessed to interpret the dreams of others. Who would have known it all began with a dream.

For all the dreamers, seek God and his word, and wisdom will be given. Ask and you will receive. We may not see the big picture, but we serve a God who does.
